Dolder is a fascinating company that brings together people from a wide variety of countries and cultures. In our HR blog, we give you an insight into how we manage to be a strong group. Our values are present in our daily working lives; not because we have framed them and put them up on a wall but because they define how we do our work.

WE STRIVE FOR LONG TERM RELATIONSHIPS BASED ON FAIRNESS, RELIABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY

When we hire colleagues, we always look for people who want to commit to us for a long time. We are convinced that like this, we will not only be more successful but that we will also have more fun getting there. Well, even if it is bragging a bit, we are rather good at doing this: Our top-long-term-employee has just retired after 47 years with Dolder. This record will probably never be topped but our average age of service is 10 years, which is also quite an achievement. 

WE BELIEVE IN EXPERTISE, KNOWLEDGE AND AGILITY

Expertise is our core product, this is what we sell: We are specialists in our field and can bring in-depth knowledge about our products and upcoming trends to our business partners. Also, the world is changing and if we want to keep up, we need to continuously learn and try out new things. But anyways, learning stuff is fun. All of this is why we have generous budgets for further education and why we have regular trainings by employees for employees. Thus, because of our controller, we all can handle pivot tables and due to our IT responsible, we are able to use the beamer with – almost – no help.

WE WORK IN TEAMS

If you come to visit us, be that as a business partner or as a possible future colleague, you will notice that each team has its own culture which is bespoke and of which the team takes good care. As an overall company we regularly spend time together outside of work at different meetings and events. In 2018, for example, we celebrated our 120th anniversary and for this we went to Barcelona for four days. Okay, we do not do this every year, but our events are always fun and they support our good team spirit.

WE CONDUCT OUR BUSINESS FOLLOWING STRICT ETHICAL RULES

The last value is a no-brainer: We do not cheat, we pay our taxes and we do not take unfair advantage. Also, we know that what we do would not be possible without the outside society. Because of this, we give back: We give financial support to a creche, an institution for the homeless and also give donations on a regular basis. Moreover, we offer training places for young people.
