PLASBLAK® BLACK MASTERBATCHES

CABOT offers a versatile range of black masterbatch products designed to meet the performance and processing needs of various industries and applications. These products are marketed under the trusted PLASBLAK® brand, recognized for its exceptional quality, reliability, and performance.

EXCEPTIONAL OPACITY – DEEP, RICH COLOR

PLASBLAK® black masterbatches deliver exceptional opacity and a deep, rich color to finished products, along with excellent UV resistance and preservation of mechanical properties. By leveraging proprietary technologies, PLASBLAK® ensures outstanding carbon black dispersion within the polymer matrix and effortless dilution of the masterbatch. This enables end users to achieve consistent, high-quality coloration in their final applications.

PLASBLAK® NIR DETECTABLE BLACK MASTERBATCH

CABOT has introduced NIR PLASBLAK®, an advanced near-infrared (NIR) detectable black masterbatch designed to improve the recyclability of black polyolefin packaging. Unlike traditional carbon black pigments, which absorb NIR light and make black plastics difficult to detect with standard NIR optical sorting systems in recycling facilities, NIR PLASBLAK® enables accurate identification and sorting of black plastics, significantly enhancing recycling efficiency.

KEY FEATURES

This innovative material allows manufacturers to create black plastic packaging that retains its desired aesthetic while promoting environmental sustainability through improved recyclability. By supporting precise sorting during the recycling process, NIR PLASBLAK® plays a vital role in advancing a circular economy for plastic materials.

REPLASBLAK® CIRCULAR BLACK MASTERBATCHES

CABOT’s REPLASBLAK® is a range of circular black masterbatches developed to promote sustainability in plastic products across industries such as automotive, agriculture, packaging, and construction. These innovative masterbatches are part of CABOT’s EVOLVE® Sustainable Solutions platform, which focuses on delivering high-performance materials with a strong emphasis on sustainable content.

KEY FEATURES

Certified sustainable content: REPLASBLAK® masterbatches are among the first CABOT products to achieve International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC PLUS), meeting rigorous ecological, social, and greenhouse gas emission standards while ensuring full traceability.

Reduced environmental impact: By incorporating recovered materials such as mechanically recycled polyethylene and reclaimed carbon from end-of-life tire pyrolysis, these masterbatches significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional black masterbatches.

APPLICATIONS

REPLASBLAK® masterbatches are specifically designed for processes such as compounding, recycling, injection molding, and sheet extrusion. These masterbatches excel in industries like automotive, agriculture, packaging, and construction, where performance and sustainability are equally critical. By integrating REPLASBLAK® masterbatches into their products, manufacturers can maintain the desired aesthetic and functional properties while contributing to environmental sustainability and fostering a circular economy.
