POLYKEMI POLYFILL® HC

PP COMPOUNDS

PP COMPOUNDS AS REPLACEMENT FOR PA AND PBT

POLYfill® HC is a highly-crystalline, glass fiber reinforced, stiff polypropylene (PP) that can be substituted for technical plastics such as polyamide (PA) or polybutylene therephthalate (PBT) – to your cost advantage.

This product is available in following countries: France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland

COST SAVINGS WITH RESPECT TO MATERIAL AND ENERGY

Thanks to its lower density, you process significantly less material than with PBT, PA. If you compare POLYfill® HC with 30% glass fibers to similar PA6 and PBT, the density of PA6 is approximately 20% greater than that of POLYfill® HC; with comparison to PBT, it is even 35% greater. Thus you also save valuable time and money thanks to

  • the lower processing temperatures
  • and the elimination of pre-drying.

INCREASED TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE

The rigidity of POLYfill® HC is comparable to that of a reinforced PA6 in the freshly-injected state. Due to its crystalline structure, POLYfill® HC is also suitable for applications at consistently high temperatures. The HDT B + A is at 143°C and 159°C respectively, and the heat resistance measured at Vicat A is 166°C, that is, over the melting point of traditional PP.

APPLICATIONS

POLYfill® HC can be used many ways especially where PP is used with long glass fibers as well as PA and PBT with glass fibers. Even in cases where polypropylene is not suitable for conventional applications, POLYfill® HC can build a bridge and fill the gap that previously separated PP from PA and PBT thanks to its thermal performance.

We will be glad to advise you about the extensive possibilities of this unusual material.
