Residential and commercial wastewaters tend to contain concentrated organic wastes that are readily biodegradable in a traditional municipal wastewater treatment plant. We provide activated carbon to help municipal wastewater treatment plants meet stringent, regulatory-driven effluent water quality criteria by removing pathogens, oxygen demanding compounds, and inorganic and synthetic organic chemicals.

Granular activated carbon (GAC) is used in fixed filter beds, standalone adsorbers, or in a moving bed configuration, while powdered activated carbon (PAC) is typically dosed into a coagulation/flocculation tank or applied in combination with an active sludge process.

We are proud to introduce you to our best grade of powdered activated carbon:

NORIT® SAE SUPER (PAC)

BENEFITS

Eliminates 80% of many micropollutants (MP) with a PAC dose of 10-20 mg/l

NORIT® SAE SUPER activated carbon is the industry benchmark in terms of performance, delivering extremely high MP elimination at low PAC dose rates). The carbon is highly mesoporous, which reduces the effect of pore blocking from adsorption of the dissolved organic carbon (DOC) fraction, and highly microporous, which enables the adsorption of MPs.
